It appears that the future is already here — and a lot sooner than even we expected.
The new flu-like virus known as SARS, or severe acute respiratory syndrome, is suspected of
originating in China via mutation and was subsequently spread via jet travel.
Perhaps the lifestyle changes depicted here for midcentury may come in
handy now. Could SARS be just the beginning? Or as Newsweek asks, "Is the worst
yet to come?" We happen to think so.
